Humanising Pedagogy
Facilitator: Angeline Aow
The Humanising Pedagogy committee is dedicated to transforming curricula so that it will serve all students under our care by humanising, indigenizing and decolonizing our pre-conceived notions about curriculum.
The Educator and Institution-wide Commitments, based on research, outline the qualities of educators who prioritise diversity, equity, inclusion, justice, and belonging (DEIJB), as well as the school structures that support inclusion and prevent discrimination.
Our goal is to encourage international schools to adopt this guidance. We’re committed to a collaborative process that uses learning stories to show how these commitments can be practised.
We envision a future where teaching humanises and empowers all students, playing a key role in eliminating discrimination in international schools. Updates to our guidance and supporting resources will be shaped by international educators’ experiences and feedback. Your active involvement in our Humanising Pedagogy commitments is essential to our shared growth.
